Q: What would you say is the one thing you like most about your work?
Makeva: My favorite thing about working here? There’s so much opportunity. You can start as a seasonal associate and work your way into a leadership role really quickly.
Q: Why do you think there’s so much growth potential for our team members?
Makeva: It's surprising how much opportunity there is to learn and advance here. In most places, once you’re in a niche, you stay there. But here, different areas overlap more. You might start in Food & Beverage and move into a different park function that you’ve been able to interact with—or even into a corporate role, like I did. Because of the park knowledge people gain, I think it’s easier to make those transitions. It may not be typical elsewhere, but it happens here because we’re more fluid.
Q: Are there other aspects of working here that you really appreciate?
Makeva: It’s a great place for our team members to connect with people across different cultures and backgrounds. Everyone comes from somewhere unique, and we get exposure to all of that. As a team member, you’ll experience so many different things, but coming in with a positive attitude and being willing to be a part of making somebody's day is really important. Oh, and you have to be interested in having FUN, right?
