  • Oversee the daily operations of the communication/dispatch area
  • Assist with hiring, training, coaching and performance management for Dispatch team
  • Work alongside Dispatchers to receive and dispatch emergency calls by telephone and radio
  • Respond to internal and external telephone calls
  • Transfer information to the appropriate person in a courteous, professional, and timely manner
  • Ensure appropriate and thorough documentation of multi-dispatch calls
  • Assist with other duties as required

Qualifications:
  • You!
  • Candidates enrolled in or graduate of an Emergency Telecommunications or 911 Communications program or possess equivalent work experience
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to identify issues and problem solve effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Individuals that are highly organized, able to multi-task, and prioritize tasks efficiently
  • Previous experience with multi-line phone systems is an asset
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including late evenings and on weekends and holidays
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment deemed necessary to perform this job safely (may include; gloves, mask and/or face shield, non-slip shoes etc.)
