Winterfest Attendant $16.90/HR

Discovery Kingdom is looking for attendants for our annual Winterfest event!

This is a seasonal position lasting for the 2026 operating season only. Seasonal associates are let go for a period of no less than 13 weeks at the end of the 2026 operating season. 

• Entertain park Guests in a professional manner. Ensure a positive experience for every Guest.
• Controlling crowds and interacting with Guests in a supportive and understanding role.
• Maintain and clean Activation Areas, Show Venues, and Backstage areas
• Portray the character of an elf when on the show floor.
• Ensure that safety of Guests and performers are maintained.
• Maintaining “show illusion” and belief of character at all times for our Guests.
• Other duties as requested.

Activities Include:

• Crowd control at activation areas including: cookie making, craft making, and picture taking.
• Cleaning and maintenance of activation areas.
• Greeting and directing Guests in character.
• Interacting with Guests at activation areas through games and crowd work.
• Assisting Guests by providing expert park knowledge.
  
  

The ideal candidate must possess:

• The ability to confidently perform and speak in front of a large crowd.
• The skills to improvise interactions with Guests and licensed characters is applicable.
• The ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal communication.
• The ability to perform in a fast paced entertainment environment.

Qualifications: Must be at least 16 years of age

Physical Requirements:

• Constantly standing, talking, climbing, walking, reaching, using finger movement, grasping,
  feeling, speaking clearly, hearing conversation, using hearing acuity, seeing near far, stooping,
  bending, kneeling.
• Working in extreme heat, sun, cold, wetness, humidity and temperature change.
• Must be able to carry 5 to 10 lbs.
• All lifts over 51 lbs. require help from a coworker or mechanical device.
• Overtime of adults may be required from time to time to accommodate the business need.
