Req ID 33398Job Summary: The Manager of Constructions is responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising all new construction at the park including rides, attractions, facilities and infrastructure projects. This role ensures that projects are completed safety, on time, within budget and in alignment with the company standards. The ideal candidate combines strong technical construction expertise with excellent leadership and communication skills. Experience in large-scale entertainment, hospitality or theme park environments is highly valued.
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Supervise, schedule and plan labor for areas of responsibility
· Schedule projects, assign work and follow up on progress to ensure on time completion to meet the business need
· Creates scopes of work for architects, engineers and contractors for all phases of Capital & EWO projects. Works with architects and engineers during the beginning phase of the project to complete designs according to established drawings completed by Six Flags Corporate Design team and outside architects.
· Oversee, coordinate and manage all construction projects from conception through completion, including ensuring that all are completed on time and within established budget
· Review all proposed capital and asset maintenance list items to ensure all local, state and federal building code requirements are factored into the final cost of each project
· Organize and track job progress and budget while communicating status to Director/VP weekly
· Compiles, evaluates, negotiates and awards contracts with consultants, contractors and vendors. When bids exceed budget, initiates, executes, and negotiates changes to the scope and design with the design group and contractors bidding the work. Work with maintenance department staff to coordinate project work, assist in projects and rehab work as directed by Maintenance Director/VP
· Assist in budget preparation, management, and forecasting
· Train, audit and adhere to all labor laws and guidelines to ensure full compliance with Federal, State, and park regulations
· Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned
Qualifications:
The Ideal Candidate Should Possess:
· Will be required to work various shifts as project and park needs dictate, including nights, weekends and holidays
· Must be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
· Must be professional, possess effective communication skills, energetic, self-motivated, and have a positive attitude
· Must possess strong financial skills to ensure budgets are monitored and forecasts are accurate
· Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record
· Must possess strong positive leadership, motivational and organizational skills
· Ability to handle multiple situations simultaneously and meet deadlines in an efficient manner
· Strong work ethic with attention to detail
· Must possess skills with Microsoft Office software. AutoCAD experience a plus. Must be able to keep computer skills current with latest software releases
· Knowledge of building and code requirements for LA County, and a proven record of managing construction projects in LA County.
