Overview:

WAGE: $21.50 / hour

Area Supervisor Communications oversees the security communication systems and ensures effective coordination during emergencies. This role involves managing the dispatch center, monitoring security operations, and providing support to security personnel. The Supervisor also ensures compliance with safety protocols and maintains clear communication channels within the security team.


Responsibilities:
  • Plan and supervise the park's communications and emergency response programs
  • Assist the Safety Manager and the Security Manager with emergency preparedness, protocols, tabletops, and live drills.
  • Take proactive measures in identifying operational opportunities involving security employees throughout the park.
  • Partner with the Security Area Manager and Security Operations Supervisors to create additional training for security employees during the season.
  • Partner with the Security Operations Supervisor in charge of scheduling and provide a communications schedule to meet the needs of the business.
  • Supervise, develop, coach, counsel, and conduct performance appraisals for communications staff
  • Provide high visibility patrols of buildings and grounds to protect park property, assets, guests, and associates
  • Monitor, enforce, and report violations of park rules and applicable state laws
  • Ensure security of park property during operating and non-operating hours, including locking gates and buildings and tracking officer equipment usage
  • Assess, resolve, and contain situations, taking appropriate action steps based on policies and training
  • Communicate using a two-way radio and telephone
  • Call for assistance and respond to emergency situations
  • Move items or objects and assist in moving or dragging persons in an emergency
  • Give verbal directions and assist guests and associates, including lost and/or separated guests
  • Monitor and operate the park's security, safety, and access control systems
  • Prevent unauthorized entry into the park or restricted areas
  • Observe and check departing personnel and vehicles to guard against property loss
  • Perform walk-through and handheld metal detection to prevent weapons and prohibited items from entering property
  • Operate a company vehicle in accordance with park and department policies
  • Write legible, timely, concise, and accurate statements and reports for incidents and investigations
  • Perform department data entry and email functions
  • Assist with traffic direction and control in the parking lot
  • Investigate and manage criminal and risk-related incidents, including interviewing subjects, victims, and witnesses, and apprehending and arresting subjects in accordance with park and department policies
  • Prepare documents and evidence relating to the prosecution of subjects; testify in court or at hearings as required
  • Provide guest service according to company standards when serving guests or working with subordinates
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1-year of communications experience in a law enforcement, health, retail or amusement park environment
  • Previous experience in loss prevention experience and CCTV systems preferred
  • Strong observational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Proficiency with computer systems and software
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
