Cedar Point's Internship Program Experience combines our business needs with college level internship requirements. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to grow and learn in the hospitality and amusement park tourism industry through hands-on exposure to day-to-day operational tasks within your assigned Division. You will be responsible for providing excellent guest service and utilizing leadership skills while collaborating on group projects to ensure a successful operation.
All interns must meet the following requirements:
- Work a minimum of 8 weeks between May 1 & August 31 (hours worked outside of this timeframe will not be counted towards the internship program)
- Work Availability: Minimum of 4 days per week of FULL availability
- 2 of the 4 days must include either Friday/Saturday OR Saturday/Sunday
- Scheduled to work a minimum average of 32 hours per week
- Complete the required Learning & Development
Responsibilities:
- Admissions Guest Experience Internship
Learn what it takes to deliver positive guest experiences at one of the world’s most popular amusement parks. Develop valuable skills like communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and teamwork. You will assist Guests remotely from our Contact Center and in person at Guest Services, Accessibility Services, and Lost & Found. Also, you will have the opportunity to lead VIP Park Tours, including our exclusive Sunrise Thrills Tour. Leadership positions may be available throughout the season. - Admissions Training & Development Internship
Facilitate Department Training for the Admissions, Guest Experience, and Traffic teams. Gain experience teaching diverse groups of learners in classroom and hands-on environments. Maintain training records in the company’s Learning Management System (Dayforce). Develop and deploy in-service training to address operational deficiencies throughout the season. This is considered a leadership position. - Admissions Auditing & Compliance Internship
Serve as an internal auditor for the Admissions, Guest Experience, and Traffic teams. Perform financial audits of POS activities, compliance audits of department records, and operational audits of department locations. Focus on adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and Guest Experience Expectations. Present audit findings and recommendations to department management on a regular basis. This is considered a leadership position. - Ride Operations Guest Experience Internship
Monitors the experiences our guests have at our ride locations through guest surveys, line timing audits, cleanliness audits, cycle timing reports, and the Milestone Rider Program. Responsible for responding to all guest comments submitted online for Ride Operations and giving awards for associates who receive guest compliments! - Ride Operations Training & Development Internship
Facilitates the Department Training program for all associates in Ride Operations. This intern teaches the Department Training and International Ride Operator Certification courses, as well as in-services throughout the season. - Ride Operations Auditing & Compliance Internship
Serves as an internal auditor for the Ride Operations team. Audits are performed covering operational procedures following International Ride Training standards, the Fast Lane program, Alternate Access Boarding Passes, and location cleanliness. This intern is also responsible for reviewing and filing of all department paperwork including certification checklists, opening and closing inspection forms, position logs, and fire extinguisher inspections.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be attending an accredited college or university within the United States
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs
- Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law
- Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law
