Req ID 25836Cedar Point's Internship Program Experience combines our business needs with college level internship requirements. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to grow and learn in the hospitality and amusement park tourism industry through hands-on exposure to day-to-day operational tasks within your assigned Division. You will be responsible for providing excellent guest service and utilizing leadership skills while collaborating on group projects to ensure a successful operation.
All interns must meet the following requirements:
- Work a minimum of 8 weeks between May 1 & August 31 (hours worked outside of this timeframe will not be counted towards the internship program)
- Work Availability: Minimum of 4 days per week of FULL availability
- 2 of the 4 days must include either Friday/Saturday OR Saturday/Sunday
- Scheduled to work a minimum average of 32 hours per week
- Complete the required Learning & Development
Responsibilities:
Associate Experience
Interns will have the opportunity to engage with, and enhance, the experience for all Cedar Point associates. Within this role, interns will create, organize, and facilitate inclusive engagement opportunities, community involvement events, charitable activities, and recognition programs for over 7,000 associates. Interns will focus on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion awareness, company-wide communications, and demonstrate ongoing engagement with associates, both individually and in group settings.
Compliance / Payroll / HRIS Systems
As a member of the compliance team, interns will partner with HR professionals to provide excellent service to our associates and complete a variety of projects. They will have a focus in onboarding compliance, payroll, and the utilization of HRIS systems (Dayforce, UKG/Kronos, Equifax, Sterling Background Service, etc.). They will gain valuable experience ensuring that all areas of Human Resources adhere to Cedar Fair policies and procedures as well as Local, State, and Federal law.
Employee Relations
In this role, interns will report directly to the Manager of Employee Relations. They will utilize various systems and tools in order to complete administrative tasks and participate in a variety of investigations and meetings. As a team member, they will manage/respond to incoming concerns, engage in conversations with associates, and collaborate with business partners throughout the company.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be attending an accredited college or university within the United States
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs
- Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law
- Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law
