The Area Manager of Ride Operations will oversee, monitor and manage the operation of a collection of rides in a geographical area of the park while ensuring their ride crews are operating in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner.
Responsibilities:
- Develops, coaches and motivates seasonal team to meet hourly capacity goals, achieve high pass audit results, perform their job duties to the standard and deliver the day experience to our guests.
- Maintains appropriate staffing levels by recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling and evaluating seasonal staff.
- Manages associate performance through coaching, counseling, and discipline.
- Reviews various reports for completion and accuracy.
- Monitors and maintains proper training documentation for rides.
- Facilitate effective lines of communication between associates, leadership, area supervision, maintenance, and senior management.
- Assist in the development and implementation of operating budget for areas of responsibility.
- Assists in creating, preparing, revising, and maintaining department manuals, certification checklists and other ride related paperwork.
- Gains extensive knowledge of manufacturer manuals, technical bulletins, Cedar Fair Standard Operating Guidelines, and the laws and rules governing amusement rides in Ohio.
- Works closely with various departments to ensure proper upkeep, cleanliness, and overall appearance of ride locations are maintained.
- Oversees and manages ride shutdowns resulting from mechanical, weather, and operational issues.
- Responds and assists with crisis management, ride related medical incidents, and ensures overall scene safety.
- Learns all aspects of their designated rides.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- At least 4 years of work related experience
- Minimal travel required
- At least 3 years in a Supervisory/Leadership role
- iROC and Trainer Certification-will provide training
- Knowledge of Microsoft and Adobe office programs
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
- Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
- Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
