Overview:
  • A full time, year round position that ensures the safe and efficient operations of the waterpark.  Works closely with the Maintenance Department to ensure safe chemical and water balance, as well as proper operation of all waterpark attractions. This position offers a competitive salary and benefits.

Responsibilities:
  • Recruits, hires, trains, schedules, and evaluates seasonal staff.
  • Maintains consistent records of associates, including:  in-service training, dispatch training, absenteeism, and any disciplinary actions taken.
  • Adheres to all guidelines set forth by Jeff Ellis & Associates.
  • Directly oversees daily waterpark operations, including all waterpark attractions and assisting merchandise with Locker and Cabana Rental  through visual and auditory observations to ensure safe and proper operation.  Walking and climbing to all attractions and buildings, are an integral element in this process.
  • Assumes responsibility for overall cleanliness and appearance of the waterpark, attractions, towers, and grounds.
  • Develops the annual Waterpark department operation expense and labor budgets.  Monitors expenses and takes appropriate action if necessary.  Ensures proper staffing levels on a daily basis, and tracks and account for variances.
  • Reads, reviews and approves all waterpark operations documents and reports, and recommends changes or revisions when appropriate.
  • Ensures that all standard operation procedures are followed if a waterpark emergency situation were to occur, to ensure the safety of all guests and associates.
  • Oversees off-season winterization and pre-opening set-up of the waterpark, with regard to operations.
  • Responds to the requests of the Vice President/General Manager as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, and knowledge that is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
  • Five years of waterpark operations experience including, two in waterpark operations supervision.
  • Thorough knowledge of waterpark operations, procedures, and safety systems.
  • Previous Ellis Lifeguard Instructor experience is preferred.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate - not only with senior management - but with seasonal associates and guests.  Effective communications with individuals both inside and outside the company are required.
  • Requires reading of materials to interpret and analyze content.
  • Mental and emotional capability to make sound decisions quickly during potentially life-threatening situations in the event of a park emergency.
  • Proficiency in writing.  Creativity is required.  Spelling, punctuation and grammar must be correct.
