Overview:

Join our EMT/Paramedic team at Hurricane Harbor Rockford! Our EMT and Paramedics are on-site seasonally for our water parks operation from May through September ensuring the safety of guests and team members during the parks operation. The EMT and Paramedic team responds to guests and team members illness or injury in a timely manner and must be certified.


Responsibilities:

In-Park Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency and non-emergency medical care to team members and guestsin accordance withestablished protocols.
  • Triage patients when multiple calls or patients overwhelm available personnel; makeappropriate determinationsabout dispositions and transports.
  • Perform drug and alcohol screens on team membersin accordance withpark policies.
  • Accurately and legibly complete required documentation.
  • Complete checks on bags, vehicles, and treatment areas before, during, and after each shift; restocksuppliesas necessary.
  • Answer calls for emergencyassistancevia telephone and radio.
  • Maintain a clean work area; perform basic cleaning of First Aid facilities (mop floors, vacuum carpets, empty trash cans, wipe down counters and beds.)
  • Complete safety ride audits safety inspections atdirection ofSafetyManager.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with guests and team members.
  • Attend all required training including Park Discovery and Department training sessions.
  • Adhere to all park labor policiespertaining tobreaks taken, length of shift and types of work performed.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects, while paying close attention to details.
  • Use efficient time management to complete required tasks and projects.
  • Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 80lbs; ability to push and pull up to 150 lbs.
  • Occasional running, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, and crawling.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, including extreme cold and heat, as well ashigh levelsof humidity and rain, occasionally for extended periods.
  • Ability to work occasionally in confined spaces and from high elevations.

Qualifications:

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Mustbe at least 18 years old.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must hold a current Illinois Department of Public Health (I.D.P.H) Emergency Medical Technician – Basic License; Wisconsin License or National Registry License must meet reciprocity requirements with I.D.P.H.
  • Must hold a current American Heart Association BLS for the Healthcare Provider CPR/AED certification.
  • Mustpossessa current and valid Driver’s License.
  • Must meet Region 1 system entry requirements through OSF St. Anthony Medical Center.
  • Strong written and verbal communications.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use all BLS equipment used in the park (pulse oximeter, glucometer, stair chair,etc).
  • Ability to handle moderate levels of stress related to high workload.
  • Safety awareness and general housekeeping.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changes inworkingenvironment.
  • Available to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Mustbe professional, self-motivatedand have an enthusiastic attitude.
  • Must have strong teamwork skills andabilityto work with others.
  • Mustpossessstrong work ethic and the ability tomulti task.
