Carowinds Park Services Area Supervisors assists Operations Supervisor in coordinating operational concerns.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises, directs, counsels and disciplines line associates, assistant supervisors, supervisors, and assistant area supervisors.
- Delegates assignments to supervisors, line staff and provides follow up, assuring proper completion.
- Ensures all duties in a location are performed in a safe manner and by established guidelines.
- Responds to and assists with emergency situations that may occur.
- Responds to and takes appropriate action to resolve concerns and complaints from guests and associates.
- Ensures the cleanliness of all Park Services areas and assists the staff as needed.
- Assures staff has proper equipment and adequate supplies to complete job tasks. Notifies Maintenance of equipment problems, building repairs, etc. necessary to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Helps with development of department training programs, manuals, and procedures under the supervision of the Area Manager. Verifies supervisors and associates are trained on all aspects of the operation.
- Performs all duties of Park Services Line Associates, Housekeepers and Supervisors as needed.
- Completes administrative paperwork as required by the department.
- Coach and assists in counseling with the associates, supervisors and assistant area supervisors.
- Be trained in the proper use of all chemicals necessary for all Park Services positions.
- Conducts meetings with the associates and supervisors to provide them with the necessary information to effectively perform their job duties.
- Provides guest service according to Six Flag's standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
- Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Six Flag's Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
- Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
- Meets Six Flag's attendance requirements as outlined in Six Flag's attendance policies.
- Adheres to Six Flag's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- 1-2 years previous Park Services supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication (verbal, written & listening)skills, especially dealing with the public as well as associates.
- Demostrated leadership experience.Good analytical, interpersonal and planning skills.
- Open availability to fill a rotating schedule, to include nights, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
- Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
