  • Charlotte, NC - This is an in-office position.

The Intern - Planning and Design, Architectural / Design Focus will assist with Architectural layouts for restaurants, retail spaces, ride queues and themed guest areas for capital and park project. Support the parks and P&D team through drafting, design development, site planning process. Preparation of presentation materials for In Park Revenue partners, area development, attraction and environment projects. Collaborate with creative, operations, and project teams to bring immersive guest experiences from concept stage to schematic and implementation stage.


Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing architectural layouts for restaurants, retail, and other guest facing themed entertainment spaces.
  • Prepare concept sketches, elevations, renderings, and other materials for overall design package of project.
  • Work in tandem project creative team, P&D coordinator, Architectural Team, and park partners to support their project needs with project development needs and coordination.
  • Help produce site plans, space studies, and preliminary design documentation.
  • Create presentation materials for leadership, creative partners, stakeholders, and park partners.
  • Provide general design support for active park development projects.
  • Confirm all creative designs and material selections adhere to regulatory and Six Flags safety standards.
  • Present creative concepts and designs during the various phases of the project to XDS leadership and stakeholders receiving and responding to feedback.
  • Select, identify, source, and create call out sheets of materials to be used for fabrication and build of projects
  • Collaborates and engages with multiple company division partners
  • Collaboration with P&D designers
  • Develop partnerships with external vendors and creative designers

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree / vocational or technical school in Architectural design or related field is required
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience
