Req ID 28133Supervises and coordinates the department’s activities in maintaining and repairing the park’s infrastructure and attractions operate safely and efficiently. Supervise a team of maintenance tradesmen, develop maintenance schedules, and liaise with other departments to promptly address any facility issues. Specific functional responsibilities will be for Paint, Sign and Carpenter Shops, but is also responsible for Team Leadership when other team leaders are not available. The Supervisor is responsible for budgeting, resource allocation, and implementing best practices to enhance operational performance and Guest satisfaction. This position emphasizes Team leadership and the ability to operate as team.
Salary Details: $68,640.00 - $80,000.00/yr. based on overall experience
Responsibilities:
- Extensive knowledge of applicable laws, codes, standards, and industry practices relating to painting, carpentry, sign and pictorial trade work. Understand and operate according to State & Federal regulations, Company policy/procedures, SCAQMD, OSHA and all safety requirements. Remain compliant with all health and safety rules and regulations applicable to the company.
- Responsible for planned schedule creation and overseeing the adherence and timely completion of work carried out. Increase the site operational effectiveness, improve on project delivery, mean time between failure and down time reduction, and manage and implement improvement plans, driving key performance ensuring that project schedules, deadlines, health, safety and environmental requirements are adhered to.
- Schedules Associates and assign tasks according to business needs. Coordinates work on multi-craft and multi-divisional and special event projects involving sign, paint, carpentry, plumbing, machine, mechanical and décor shops. Plans and develop preventative maintenance job plans.
- Assess the need to stock critical materials such as paint, concrete, adhesives, tile and spare parts for continuous production on all critical work efforts. Assess the need of consumables to support sustainment efforts to include PPE.
- Complete and maintain accurate, timely documentation and records as required. (i.e. VOC logs).
- Maintain department operating expenses within approved budgets. Ensure that resources are used for optimum effect.
- Provide technical and organizational leadership to departments. Motivate and coordinate department employees and handle any disciplinary issues that arise.
- Supervise outside services contractors, such as scaffolding, painting, plumbing, plasterers, masons, equipment maintenance, equipment, roofing, and safety services. Orders parts, materials and supplies in accordance with established company budgets and guidelines.
- Manage the application of and supervision of carpenter, paint and sign shop theories and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and layout techniques: Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree/vocational or technical school, with a focus on construction, building maintenance.
- A certification in construction, maintenance, or building trades is preferred.
- At least 10+ years of prior working experience in construction/maintenance.
- Thorough background in reading, modifying, or correcting blueprints, sketches, and drawings. Must fully comprehend manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and/or setup requirements. Must be able to supervise and verify employee techniques and work in same.
- Extensive knowledge of methods and standard practices the Paint, Carpentry and Sign/Pictorial trades. Apply knowledge of surface coatings preparation and coatings application procedures. Computer Sign graphics design, color correction, printing and graphics mounting methods. Graphic mounting includes billboards and large format banners. Apply knowledge of Carpentry trade mathematics and material layout techniques. Apply knowledge of large graphic layout patterns for large field signs. Must be able to supervise and verify employee techniques and work in same.
- Must be detail oriented to guide and instruct employees in trouble shooting and finding paint, sign, wall paper and carpentry failure modes, then provide guidance on the proper corrective actions.
- Must have a good understanding of modern business practices and procedures, business letter writing and elements of correct English usage, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, punctuation and mathematics.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is desired. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with others is a must.
