Overview:

Six Flags Over Georgia is seeking an energetic and creative individual to join our Entertainment Team! This position is responsible for pre-production design and coordination, hands on repair of the technical systems, special events, and ride show elements. This position is responsible for providing the coordination and development of other Technical Shop personnel.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000

Reports to: Entertainment Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilties

  • Assist in developing a team of energetic problem-solvers with a “can-do” attitude.
  • Collaborate with Tech Shop staff to enhance team member experience and ensure proper training.
  • Ensure team members are equipped to perform their job responsibilities effectively.
  • Develop safe standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all Shop personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with Six Flags SOPs related to safety and personnel.
  • Ensure adherence to Department of Labor laws and guidelines.
  • Create and promote a safe work environment.
  • Establish and maintain safe rigging practices in collaboration with the Entertainment Supervisor.
  • Update SOPs for new and routine tasks.
  • Provide technical support for all shows and events, including design, equipment selection, and maintenance.
  • Develop long- and short-term maintenance plans for technical systems with the Entertainment Supervisor.
  • Maintain high-quality technical systems through effective maintenance procedures.
  • Repair, test, and troubleshoot systems including lighting, sound, onboard ride audio, rigging, video control, show control, and special effects.
  • Perform tasks such as:
    • Audio/video rack assembly and installation
    • Control and conduit installation
    • Special plate and electrical panel fabrication
    • Equipment modification for special control applications
  • Support studio production of sound effects and background music.
  • Provide input and design for sound, video, and control systems.
  • Act as Duty Technical Shop Manager (Unit 381), coordinating park-wide technical issue responses.
  • Oversee timing and completion of projects within budget.
  • Manage operations of department recording and video studios.
  • Establish and enforce preventative maintenance policies for Ride Audio and Entertainment locations.
  • Assist Info Systems with Park Sound content, parade control, and show interactions.
  • Plan efficient setup and strike procedures for technical support of shows and events.


Qualifications:

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of hands-on technical experience in sound, lighting, and show control.
  • Strong leadership, motivational, and team-building skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend system engineering plans.
  • Thorough understanding of the entertainment production process.
  • Proven ability to achieve goals through motivation, delegation, and systems.
  • Strong organizational skills; creative, outgoing, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications; computer literate.
  • Networking knowledge preferred.
  • Flexible schedule availability (nights, overnights, weekends, holidays).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clear driving record.
