Retail Trainer, Rides Lead

JOB SUMMARY:

A Rides Lead is directly responsible for the entire operation of assigned ride, responsible for the supervision of their in-charges, and Team Members. This position must ensure the safe and efficient operation through daily ride inspections and audits, must be knowledgeable about rides, and assist in other tasks assigned by Rides Management.

Pay Rate: $12.50 - 13/hr.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Motivate and supervise a all in-charges and Team Members.
  • Ensure the ride crew is operating safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure all ride team members are following proper operating procedures 
  • Ensure the maintenance of the general area is clean through high in-park visibility and rigorous daily inspections of each location.
  • Work closely with Supervisor to achieve both departmental and organizational goals.
  • Ensure Guest First Standards are followed and enforced.
  • Maintaining high throughput goals.
  • Handle guest complaints when necessary.
  • Coordinate staffing of a ride following budgetary guidelines.
  • Work closely with section supervisor to ensure proper staffing levels in the department.
  • Ensure all training requirements and testing procedures are adhered to as set forth by Six Flags.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Communicate effectively in the English language, including the ability to read, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must possess an enthusiastic and positive Guest First Orientation and enjoy working with people
  • Ability to motivate with excellent leadership skills
  • Be available to work flexible hours at nights, over nights, and on weekends.
  • React well in stressful and emergency situations.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to respond immediately and adapt to all emergency situations
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Be safety conscious, while also outgoing with a friendly demeanor.
  • Be willing to actively engage guests.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Continued sitting, standing, and bending; frequent kneeling.
  • Eye/hand coordination, near vision, hearing, and speech. Manual dexterity, gross motor skills, and color definition.
  • Stand/walk for up to 6 hours at a time and as many as 14 hours a day; walk over 3 miles per day over various surfaces.
  • Lift and carry 25 lbs. over 25 feet over various surfaces; lift and lower 5 lbs. above shoulder level.
  • Must be able to climb a stepladder up to 6 feet in height.  Climb a 40 foot tower
