Job Summary: Are you ready to lead a team through great culinary experiences for our guests? You will play a key leadership role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen within a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You will be responsible for overseeing kitchen staff, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring excellent food quality and service. This position demands strong organizational skills, teamwork, and the ability to think quickly and multitask under pressure.
This role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the food service experience at Six Flags, where your leadership and dedication will help maintain a fun and safe environment for both staff and park guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage kitchen staff to prepare and serve food in a high-volume environment while maintaining efficiency and quality. Ensure timely food preparation to meet the demands of large crowds, particularly during peak park hours.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, ensuring staff works cohesively to meet the demands of the day. Organize and delegate tasks efficiently to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety. Ensure all kitchen equipment is sanitized properly, and food safety protocols (such as handling, storage, and preparation) are consistently followed. Perform daily cleaning tasks and monitor staff to ensure they adhere to sanitation standards.
- Monitor inventory levels of food, supplies, and kitchen equipment. Work closely with management to place orders as needed and ensure the kitchen is stocked and prepared for the day's operations.
- Ensure that all kitchen staff adhere to proper PPE usage at all times, including gloves, hairnets, aprons, and other necessary safety gear to ensure the health and safety of employees and guests.
- In a fast-paced environment, you must make quick decisions while juggling multiple tasks. You’ll need to maintain focus, prioritize tasks, and troubleshoot any issues that arise to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen.
Pay Range: $16-18/hr. (based on certifications)
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong experience in kitchen management or supervision in a high-volume setting.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage staff effectively.
- Ability to maintain a calm and efficient working environment under pressure.
- High attention to detail and dedication to food safety and sanitation standards.
- Must be able to lift heavy items, stand for extended periods, and work in hot environments.
- Maintain flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and peak hours. The ability to work across various shifts is crucial to accommodate the fluctuating demands of the park.
Other Functions: All other duties assigned or necessary to support the park as a whole. While this job description is intended to be an accurate reflection of the requirements of the job, management reserves the right to add or remove duties when circumstances (e.g., emergencies, changes in workload, rush jobs, or technological developments) dictate.
