Job Summary:

Six Flags Over Texas is seeking a dynamic, creative, and resourceful individual to develop and lead a high performance Entertainment team. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manages all Entertainment and Special Events department functions for Six Flags Over Texas, including live shows, character experiences, parades, concerts, fireworks & pyrotechnical shows, promotions (onsite & offsite), and special events such as Fright Fest, Holiday in the Park, 4th Fest, etc.
  • Develops the department leadership team and is responsible for creating a guest-ready high performing team culture.
  • Works with the Human Resources team to recruit, audition, place, train, and facilitate employee relations programs, creating a positive, diverse, inclusive, and high performing team culture.
  • Long and short term planning, creating, managing and supervising all aspects of Entertainment and Special Events productions including facility management, show installation, and operation supervision.
  • Responsible for developing an operating budget for the department, managing expenditures and monthly financial forecasts.
  • Ensures compliance to all Corporate, Park and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for administering team member schedules and ensuring there is appropriate coverage.
  • Maintains day-to-day supervisory patrols and presence throughout the park property.
  • Willing to cross train and assist with all other duties as assigned by the Director of Park Operations or Senior Management.
  • Serves as Department and Park Duty Manager, as assigned.

Organizational Structure:

  • Reports to the Director of Park Operations

The Ideal Candidate Must Possess:

  • Three (3) years of progressive management experience, preferably in a theme park.
  • Previous Entertainment and Special Events experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage the production of in-house shows and special events.
  • Ability to set up, strike, and troubleshoot audio, video, and lighting systems.
  • Ability to run show rehearsals and direct cast for blocking and choreography.
  • A clear criminal background record and valid state driver’s license.
  • Strong leadership, organization and computer skills (Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent oral, written, and communication skills as well as organizational, administrative, and public relations skills
  • Must be able to work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to walk long distances, stand for long periods, have excellent vision (corrected, if applicable), work in high places, and safely lift a maximum of 60 lbs.
  • Self-driven and resourceful professional with the ability to select and lead a diverse team.
