Responsibilities:
  • Assistin managing theoperation of all Public Safety DepartmentsincludingSecurity, Loss Prevention,Safety &First Aid,Traffic, and Risk Management.Assistin developing emergency response procedures, loss prevention initiatives, andmaintainingstrongpartnershipwith local law enforcement,fireand emergency management agencies. 
  • Lead the Public Safety team in a fast-paced environment, respond calmly under pressure, and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
  • ManagesthePublic Safety Departmentexpense and labor budget; ensures compliance by monitoring department expenses and seasonal labor levels.
  • Conductaccident investigations todeterminethe root cause of guest and employee incidents. Routinely inspect all areas for hazards and other security- and safety-related risks.
  • Monitor andobservepark patrol officers and investigative activities.
  • Oversee and may personallyparticipatein responding to and investigating criminal and procedural violations, obtaining evidence, compilinginformation,and preparing case reports.
  • Assistin managingall litigation claims: reporting,investigatingandmaintainingfiles on potential claims, active claims, and lawsuits against thePark. Be the Park liaison with attorneys and insurance companies. Serve ascorporatedesignee in litigation cases and testify on behalf of the company.
  • Coordinates andparticipatesin the recruiting, interviewing, andselectionof employees for the park'sPublic SafetyDepartment through on-site interviewing and through off-site school visits and job fairs. Manages the development,preparationand implementation of effective training programs for staff members to ensure the highest levels ofsafetyand guest service.Overseesthe scheduling and supervision of these employees. Coaches, counsels and, when necessary,disciplinesemployees.
  • Responds to calls involving guest or employee illnesses and accidents; investigates andassistsin providing emergency medical treatment as directed byparkSafety employees. Completes reports on all incidents.
  • Interpret,implementand update the Safety Compliance Manual, Emergency Response Manual, First Aid Standard Operating Procedures, First Aid Patient Care Protocols and support Corporate Safety and Health Standards.
  • Oversees the implementation of the park's security program that will ensure employee and guest safety as well as compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances.
  • Meet and review Emergency Response Procedures with local, county,stateand federal agencies on a periodic basis, andassistwith coordinating drills.
  • Develop trainingprogramfor Parkleadershipand Public Safety employees. Coordinate scaled emergency response simulations in conjunction with local, county, state, and federal agencies.
  • Adheres to and enforces allSix Flags EntertainmentCorporationand specific Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom policies and procedures, including safety, attendance, and EEO policies, anddemonstratesa commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Ability to travel by plane and/or car to attend out-of-state or off-site training/court sessions.

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of relevant safety and/or security experiencerequired.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a team-oriented approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • OSHA 30 certificationrequired, or ability to obtainimmediatelyupon hire.
  • The ability to effectively communicate with the highly agitated and emotionally unstable person(s) during intense situations to solve problems andaccomplishgoals.
  • The mental and emotional capability to make sound decisions quickly during potentially life-threatening situationsin the event ofa park emergency.
  • Mustpossessstrong organizational skills and be able to multitask under high-pressure emergencies.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with senior management, seasonal employees, and guests toaccomplishgoals and resolve problems.
  • Basic analytical skills necessary to organizeworkloadtoestablishpriorities.
  • Writing skills to accurately explain or describe any accident or situation. Spelling, punctuation, and grammar must be correct.
  • Musthave a valid driver’s license.
