JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for providing supervision to the Carpentry and Construction areas of the Maintenance Department including repair and maintenance, preventative maintenance, service calls, training, scheduling of work and adherence to all safety, park and departmental policies.   

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: 

  • Supervises the carpentry and construction areas of the park.
  • Conducts continuous safety and area cleanliness inspections to identify and correct hazards throughout all park areas to include behind the scenes as well as in-park
  • Ensures proper training on and use of machines, tools and equipment, and that personal protective equipment is used in accordance company and industry guidelines
  • Performs frequent daily site inspections of ongoing work and review of upcoming work; checks park areas frequently for any needed house-keeping, repairs and maintenance
  • Actively participates with the process of identifying, finding, ordering and storing parts and supplies
  • Provides a work environment that demonstrates leadership, cooperation, policy enforcement, safety, housekeeping, motivation, open and honest communication and feedback
  • Oversees assigned rehab projects to include ordering of parts, QC, and assure that all OEM specifications are being followed
  • Reviews daily schedule, priorities and estimates for ongoing and future projects with Coordinator/Foremen on a regular basis
  • Enforces and adheres to all corporate, park and department policies and guidelines as well as all OSHA/State requirements
  • Ensures all documentation is being completed and filed properly
  • Assists other departments as requested
  • Other duties as requested

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Three years prior experience as a Maintenance Technician at a Six Flags Theme Park or the equivalent preferred
  • General Carpentry: Includes remodeling of park facilities and attractions.
  • Construction: Must be familiar with the operation of heavy equipment use, concrete from setting and construction of concrete piers and retainer walls.
  • Must have ability to coordinate multi-task projects.
  • Must have experience in supervising large work groups.
  • Must have purchasing experience and ability to get bids and meet with contractors/vendors.
  • Have the capability to access all areas of the park (to include confined spaces and heights above 200ft); must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Must be capable of bending, squatting and kneeling
  • Possess a thorough working knowledge of the operation of hand and power tools, heavy equipment, etc. and train others on the safe usage of equipment
  • Proficient in Word, Excel. Mobaro and Maximo systems preferred.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license
  • Have the capability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays
