Ensure all water quality equipment and operations continue to meet regulatory guidelines and statutes. Will provide training to personnel per requirements set through company policies. Conducts evaluations to operating parameters to make sure necessary adjustments or modifications could potentially improve performance of the department.
Responsibilities:
- Will make sure equipment is operating as designed. Walks throughout the facility to review performance of the equipment using visual, audio, odor, and touch clues to determine predictive and preventative maintenance to equipment. Using this information to determine how to limit the interruption to the guest experience. Commonly assists in maintenance to the ride equipment.
- Talking with MOD and other staff as needed to ensure swimming pools are meeting operating guidelines. Visiting each mechanical room, pool, and storage area to review the conditions existing versus the expectations. Reviews daily records for compliance with those expectation and directs staff with instructions to meet those.
- Training and coaching – Understands necessary details to provide training for staff within the water quality department. Tracks the delivery of the details used to educate the staff and also coaches the staff to ensure they have understood the details correctly. Takes the time needed to watch staff perform tasks as they are happening within a reasonable timeline.
- Reviews the posted schedule as often as needed to provide adequate staffing levels. The operation of the swimming pools is highly dependent on all shift being covered. Should staff fail to show up, they will balance the work with the eligible personnel. Reviews attendance records to determine when necessary disciplinary measures are needed.
- Will be well versed in the minimum requirements of governing agencies like the health department. Codes and guidelines are reviewed throughout the course of the year to make sure our compliance is guaranteed. Will handle each visit from the authorities having jurisdiction for pool regulations and guidelines.

Qualifications:
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO), or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO), or PPSO required
- Knowledge of pumps, filters, and plumbing; Ability to differentiate colors and shades of color; Maintain established performance levels
- Present leadership qualities or exhibit previous experience in pool chemistry and operation
- Experience with directing other employees' daily work activities and to undertake or recommend the following employment actions: hiring, termination, corrective action and performance reviews.
- Required to work in a multitude of environmental conditions.
- 2-4 years of relevant work experience
- Must be able to drive a vehicle with no restrictions.
